The 2026 Dementia Symposium is a must-attend event for all Dementia Change Champions, Practitioners, Service Providers, Carers and Administrators.
This year’s theme, “Changing the Journey,” will focus on the State Dementia Action Plan, its rollout, its impact on awareness, enabled environments, risks and training, and the vital role that early recognition and timely intervention play in improving outcomes for people living with dementia. We will also explore VAD and how that is âChanging the Journey.â
This year’s Symposium advocates for early detection to help change the journey for people living with dementia and those who support them. By recognising the signs earlier and improving access to information, services and support, we can empower individuals to live well for longer and plan with confidence and dignity.
Whether you’re from the health or community sectors, local government, aged care, business, education, or simply passionate about making a difference, this event is your opportunity to be part of a shared vision for Western Australia’s future, creating more dementia friendly communities where everyone feels supported.
Join us to hear from voices across community, advocacy, government, health and lived experience. Together, we are working to ensure people living with dementia feel valued, included and supported to live well and age with dignity in the community.
The program will open with a keynote address from the Hon Meredith Hammat MLA, Minister for Health and Mental Health (WA). It will also share stories from Dementia Change Champions and showcase the ongoing work communities are undertaking to foster connection, inclusion and wellbeing.
Ticket includes all Symposium 2026 sessions, meals and refreshments.
