accessibility at PCEC

PCEC is committed to understanding and supporting equal access and opportunity for all who pass through our doors.

Public Entrances

Public entrances on Mounts Bay Road allow for wheelchair access via low-grade ramps, automatic doors and lifts.

Lifts

Elevators are fitted with accessible control panels, audio information and braille buttons. Each floor inside the venue is accessible by one of our elevators.

Signage

Pictographic signs and accessibility maps are placed throughout the venue for easy reference and wayfinding.

Bathrooms

There are 7 unisex accessible toilets for guests with limited mobility located throughout the venue. All accessible toilets have hand basins and are fitted with a monitored emergency duress system.

Assistance Animals

Guide dogs and registered assistance animals are welcome in all areas of the venue as per legislation requirements.

We ask guests to have certification for service animals and that their service animal is wearing a vest that identifies them as such.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

PCEC recognises the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program. Key members of our Front of House team are trained to support guests with non-visible disabilities and additional needs.

If you require assistance during your visit, please see Reception on arrival and our team will be happy to assist.

Ngaangk Djet
Sensory Room

PCEC offers a dedicated sensory room for guests who may benefit from a calm, quiet space away from event activity and stimulation.

The sensory room is located on Level 1, adjacent to the First Aid Room, with accessible bathrooms nearby. Download the map here.

Accessible Virtual Tour

Explore PCEC before you arrive with our accessible virtual tour. The tour allows you to familiarise yourself with the venue’s layout, facilities and key access points, helping you plan your visit with confidence.

Whether you’re attending an event, supporting a guest, or simply prefer to know what to expect, the virtual tour is a great way to get to know the space before your visit.

Food and Beverage

PCEC can cater for special dietary requirements for events by prior arrangement with your event organiser.

Foyers and Corridors

All foyers and corridors are sufficiently wide and are kept clear for easy wheelchair and pedestrian access.

Resting spots are available in all concourses and foyer areas. Loose lounge seating is available in these areas.

Emergencies

Frontline staff are trained to respond to emergency situations. PCEC staff will assist in the event of a fire alarm or other emergency. If the Centre has to be evacuated, public address system announcements will be made and audible alarms will sound.

Adult Change Table

The nearest Changing Places facility with a hoist is located beside the Elizabeth Quay Water Park and can be accessed using an MLAK key.

If you require an adult change table while visiting PCEC, we can facilitate a temporary setup with 24 hours’ notice preferred. Please contact info@pcec.com.au for further information.
