Join us for a powerful day of connection, learning and change at the 2025 Dementia Symposium, hosted by Alzheimer’s WA.

This year’s theme, “Building a Dementia Friendly State: Made in WA,” celebrates the strength of our local communities and the change-makers working to create a WA where people living with dementia are supported to live with meaning, purpose and inclusion. It provides a platform to exchange the latest dementia care strategies, challenge existing perceptions, and explore innovative approaches to supporting people living with dementia.

Through keynote presentations, real-life stories, and practical insights, the Symposium will explore how we can design a more dementia-inclusive WA – across tourism, healthcare, education, community, policy and everyday spaces.

Participants are encouraged to share their insights and experiences, contributing to WA’s vital dementia care sector. The Symposium caters to Dementia Change Champions™, practitioners, service providers, carers, and administrators.

Whether you’re from the health or community sectors, local government, aged care, business, education, or simply passionate about making a difference, this event is your opportunity to be part of a shared vision for WA’s future

Session topics include:

Making WA a leader in dementia-friendly tourism

Early detection and its impact on access and acceptance

Supporting dementia change champions in our communities

Creating practical community-based pathways for people living with dementia

Putting WA’s Dementia Action Plan into motion
