PERTH CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION CENTRE APPOINTS KENDRA NAIDOO AS NEW GENERAL MANAGER

The Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC), recently named the Best Convention Centre in Australia by the prestigious World MICE Awards 2024, is proud to announce the appointment of Kendra Naidoo as its new General Manager. Kendra, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in venue operations, leadership, and management, will oversee the PCEC’s leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Perth’s premier business event venue.

Kendra’s extensive background in the industry positions her perfectly to lead PCEC into its next chapter of growth and innovation. “I’m excited to embark on this next chapter with the fantastic team at PCEC,” said Kendra. “I aim to leverage my diverse experience and knowledge to drive the venue’s growth and success, positioning Perth as a leading business events destination on the global stage.”

Kendra steps into the role as Nigel Keen, who has served as General Manager for the past 12 years, steps down from his position. Nigel expressed his confidence in Kendra’s leadership: “We are delighted to appoint Kendra, who has been an integral part of our team for the past 6 years, with 2 years as General Manager of Venue Operations. Her knowledge of the sector and PCEC will be invaluable as we continue to build on the success of hosting over 500 events in the last 12 months, welcoming more than 100,000 national and international delegates.”

Over the next 3 months, Kendra will be working remotely while completing her maternity leave after the birth of her second child in July. Joshua Key will serve as Acting General Manager of Operations throughout October, November and December, with Kendra returning to her full-time role in January 2025.

Since its opening in 2004, the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre has hosted thousands of events, ranging from international and national conventions, local government conferences, university graduations, exhibitions, and live events. With over 200,000 visitors and delegates expected by the end of the year, PCEC continues to be a driving force in Perth’s vibrant landscape, boosting the city’s reputation as a premier destination for business and cultural events.
