Last month we welcomed AusBiotech 2022 to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre for the first time since 2005.
The Government of Western Australia, along with Business Events Perth, committed $450,000 to secure the three-day programme here in WA.
The event is Australiaâs largest Life Sciences Conference, uniting Australiaâs biotechnology sector and highlighting the importance of Western Australiaâs health and medical life sciences industry, which encompasses 244 companies, an increase from 119 in 2017.
âPCEC are proud to be able to work with Business Events Perth and the stateâs Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade, Roger Cook to host AusBiotech. We look forward to collaborating on future opportunities in the stateâs priority industry sectors, to support the economic growth of WA and business events in Perth.â commented Nigel Keen, General Manager PCEC.
Medical Research and Innovation and ICT Minister Stephen Dawson said the AusBiotech conference is an âincredible opportunityâ for the WA research sector to promote all of its accomplishments.
Minister Roger Cook opened the conference, alongside AusBiotech CEO Lorraine Chiroiu. âWith our rapidly growing health and medical life sciences industry, WA can play a leading role in developing healthcare solutions for the future,â said Cook.
âBusiness events act as a catalyst and a front door for trade and investment. AusBiotech 2022 and AusBioInvest 2022 are a platform for current and future biotech leaders to pitch their new products to potential investors, creating new opportunities and collaborations.â
