Dame Edna My Gorgeous Life

The grand dame of world theatre, Dame Edna Everage, has been forced out of retirement by the demands of her adoring “Precious Possums”, announcing a surprise tour of Australia in September & October.

In a letter to her fans, Dame Edna apologised for upsetting them when she announced her retirement from public life, blaming her manager, “failed actor and attention seeker” Barry Humphries.

“One of the reasons I am adored pretty much worldwide is that I’ve always told you the truth; mostly the truth about yourselves, and even sometimes about me,” Dame Edna said.

“However this is an apology. It’s an apology for once telling you a wicked fib: a porkie, a cruel deceitful lie. I told you I had retired. That was a few years ago and when my announcement got around the globe a lot of people ‘freaked out’, to employ a phrase I never use. Now I’m reborn, fit as a fiddle, and rid of the leech who tormented me for so long. So, Possums, please do come and say hello to me. It would be lovely to see your faces again.”

Em Rusciano – The Rage & Rainbows Tour

Stand-up comedian, singer, writer and broadcaster Em Rusciano is back with her biggest theatre tour to date! The Rage and Rainbows Tour will see Em and her 8-piece band leave a trail of glitter across the country.

For ten years, if you asked Em Rusciano how she was, she said, “fine”. Yeah bullshit. She was lying awake at 3am with unexplained rage, and so was EVERY OTHER WOMAN SHE KNEW.

This past year Em had a baby, turned 40, left a high profile job and had a combined 45 minutes sleep. There’s been next-level rage. There’s also been love. There’s been day drinking and breast feeding NOT AT THE SAME TIME PISS OFF CLICK-BAIT WRITERS.

In The Rage and Rainbows Tour, Em is finally giving voice that gnawing rage we all try to hide. She’s unleashing it, she’s dunking it in white wine, she’s rolling it in glitter, and giving it an 8 piece back-up band and four costume changes.

She’s also going to tell you what you can do with it; to send it on its way.

The Rage and Rainbows Tour is more than a show. It’s a festival for anyone who’s felt fed-up, furious, exhausted, demoralized… but still maintained a passion for sequins.

Em has teamed up with Australia’s 2019 Eurovision representative, the ridiculously talented Kate Miller-Heidke and her partner Keir Nuttall to write four original, fabulous songs especially for The Rage and Rainbows Tour. The songs are available here and learning all the words so that we can have a knee-trembling singalong is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!

Em lovers know to book in early to be close to the action – The Rage and Rainbows Tour is bound to be another sell-out. And yes, of course Em’s Dad Vincie is in the band.

Recommended for ages 15+.

Steve Martin and Martin Short – Now You See Them, Soon You Won’t

Steve Martin and Martin Short will bring their critically acclaimed comedy tour Now You See Them, Soon You Won’t for the first time to Australian audiences in November.  This celebrated comedy show redefines the form in unexpected and profound ways, from two of the funniest, most influential and acclaimed talents of the past century.   The duo will be joined on stage by Grammy Award-winning bluegrass band The Steep Canyon Rangers.

Now You See Them, Soon You Won’t follows Steve Martin and Martin Short’s sold-out tour An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life.  The tour was filmed for a Netflix special that earned rave reviews and garnered four Emmy® nominations. Fueled by comedic precision and anchored in a lifelong friendship, Rolling Stone called the special “wryly hip but unexpectedly touching,” with the New York Times describing it “gleeful and satisfying.”

Steve Martin and Martin Short’s humor is often subversive, but it is always a joyous self-deprecating romp from two comedy masters driven to make each other laugh as much as the audience. The jokes come at you at a rapid-fire pace with little set-up and big punch lines as they mock Hollywood and the fickle nature of celebrity, but the comedy truly soars when they lovingly (and relentlessly) roast each other.

Martin and Short’s chemistry and timing on stage reflects a friendship of more than three decades; they met for the first time on the set of the 1986 film Three Amigos.  The comedy icons have been touring together since 2016, when they launched their first live show titled “A Very Stupid Conversation.”

Don’t miss comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short! Hurry, this will sell out!
