PCEC Chef's win again

Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) proved their kitchen skills on an international scale once again after winning several awards at the WA Oceanafest 2011 held at the Centre on the 20 – 22 March as part of Fine Food Western Australia and the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs regional competition.

Two of PCEC’s top chef’s proudly received three medals collectively for achievements in their individual categories at the WA Oceanafest 2011. James Nathan receiving a silver medal and Owen Carlin taking home both a silver medal and gold medal.

Che Tam Nguyen won the Western Australia state competition at the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs over the weekend. Tam will now being heading to Melbourne in late July to participate in the national Jeunes Commis Rôtisseurs competition.

“To receive silver and gold medals in the Oceanafest competition with individual competitors from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Korea and Thailand is great recognition of our kitchen’s culinary skills,” said PCEC’s Chief Executive Officer, Dean Lee.

“Additionally, to represent Western Australia in the Jeunes Commis Rôtisseurs national competition is a great achievement. The exposure and experience gained, especially for our promising young chef’s, is unmatched in any other culinary competition.” Mr Lee stated.
