A unique destination. Breathtaking
attractions...
Western Australia is a state of boundless beauty. From its whitewashed
shores and turquoise waters to its dusty deserts, rugged gorges and age-old
forests, Western Australia offers unsurpassed beauty.
In the north, major mining operations dig for iron ore, diamonds and salt,
pristine coastal waterways offer spectacular diving and fishing, and the
majestic landscapes of the Pilbara and Kimberley are home to a broad range of
native flora and fauna.
In the south, award-winning wineries jostle for attention with natural
attractions such as giant old-growth Karri forests. To the south-east, the
historic gold mining town of Kalgoorlie is a hub for small and large
prospectors.
It is remarkable, anywhere on this overcrowded planet, to find space enough
for yourself to spread out, in whatever sense. Western Australia is made
up of an intricate, and intimate, mix of people and places. Fact and
fiction, even.
In Western Australia you will see pure, clear, remarkable
light. Light that fills you … passes right through you. From the
cool hues of the early morning to the fiery glow of late
afternoon.
To sit on a beach with no-one else there ... to sing in the
desert and know no-one will hear your voice … to sleep under a canopy of stars
so massive in appearance …
Stephen Scourfield
